For people who are hard of hearing, and/or who wear a hearing aid, it can sometimes be very frustrating to hear many voices talking at once. A hearing aid will amplify all sound, and so a chatty person at another table may seriously impede such a person’s ability to focus on the discussion at his own.
For this reason it is always good to try to have a small breakout room where those with hearing impairments can undertake a discussion in relative peace.
Added Value
You may also find that dividing a room in this way can be beneficial for employees or attendees who may not otherwise vocalise their thoughts in a larger group.
