The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability

Learning Disability Week 2019

The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability –www.scld.org.uk is excited to announce that Scotland’s Learning Disability Week 2019 – www.scld.org.uk/learning-disability-week-2019 will take place from Monday 13th – Sunday 19th May.

This year’s theme is ‘community’ – whoever we are and where ever in Scotland we live, we can all be part of a community. SCLD want to celebrate the contribution and involvement of people with learning disabilities in communities all over Scotland and are asking people, groups and communities to get involved by organising their own ‘Communi-Tea Party’.

You can order a ‘Get Involved’ pack which includes everything you need for your ‘Communi-Tea Party’, such as Learning Disability Week bunting, tea bags, badges, stickers, posters and more! There are even speciality fairy cake toppers to celebrate the launch of our Learning Disability Week mascot, ‘Uno the Unicorn’. Find out more about Uno – www.scld.org.uk/meet-uno-our-learning-disability-week-mascot

So why not get together with your local community this Learning Disability Week, to spread the word, raise awareness and celebrate people with learning disabilities being active, connected and included within their communities.

There are only a limited number of free ‘Get Involved’ packs, so order yours now by emailing admin@scld.co.uk or phoning 0141 248 3733.
